Christmas Cheer in Glenmore N.S.

The run up to Christmas was a very busy time for all students in Glenmore N.S. as they were busy preparing for their Christmas performances. Ms. Keanes and Mr. Grants class performed their own version of the nativity based ‘Donkey For Sale’.  Miss. Lonergan and Miss Kelly’s classes performed ‘Hallelujah Rock’. Well done to all the singers and actors who never missed a beat. The show was performed on the new stage in Glenmore Community Centre which really added to the occasion. See below for a selection of pictures from the performances.

Christmas Shoe Box Appeal a great success!

Thank you to parents and students  who again supported our Christmas Shoe Box Appeal. A great number of shoe boxes were filled with toys and goods for children less fortunate in other countries. The boxes were collected by the army assisted by our Student Council members. Well done to all involved.

Solar Panels For Glennmore N.S. in 2024.

The school is proud to announce that it has been selected for a pilot programme to install Solar EV panels on the school building in 2024. This will be of huge benefit to the school as it will be able to produce electricity and consume, thus reducing usage as a whole. Its a very exciting project for the school as a whole as we continually aim to reduce our carbon footprint.

Red Kettle Show fills us with fun!

On Friday 24th of November our old friends from Red Kettle Theatre Company came for their annual visit. As per usual they failed to disappoint with a wonderful show of fun and antics for all students. Well done to all who got involved in the show Looking forward to next year’s visit already.

Funky Kids 2023

On the final Thursday of the school year – 10 weeks of hard work came together with our Funky Kids end of year show. Prepared by Denis and Olivia of Funky Kids the children delivered a mighty performance of song, dance, sketches and entertainment. The buzz in the parish hall was fantastic with the crowd really got involved. It was a memorable experience for all. Well done to all the children and for making it such a special occasion.

Shining in the Shield Again!

Hard luck to our boys hurling team (aided by some girls!) in the Roinn C Shield final. The final was played in a sunny Ballyhale. The Glen put up a very courageous and battling show against a very strong St. Johns team who eased to victory in the end. Mr. Grant and Mr. O’Gorman were very proud of the team’s fine effort.

Pictures attached are from the semi final and final.
