School Mini League 2026

Over the past two months 42 pupils from 2nd to 6th classes have been taking part in the Mini Hurling League.

This year there were 33 great games, great scores and great excitement as always. On our finals day Ruairí’s team defeated Brody’s team in the Plate Final. CJ’s team beat Emma Jane’s Team in the Shield Final and in the Cup Final Michael’s Team beat Stephen’s team. Well done to all the players involved and thanks to Mr. Murphy and Mr. Grant for refereeing the games. Looking forward to next year already.

Bí Cineálta – Outdoor Mural

Thanks to Mr. Murphy and his team of budding artists as they completed an outdoor mural this week. The mural is part of our Bí Cineálta initiative, promoting kindness and well being within the school. All would agree a very fine job was done by all involved  – maith sibh go léir!

Easter Assembly

We rounded off the Easter term with our half day activities to get the holidays going! Firstly we enjoyed our annual Easter Egg Hunt around the school. Well done to the Students Council for their help here always challenging the pupils with their hiding skills! Then we had our Student of the Month awards before rounding things off with our postponed Lá Glas performances. The whole school finished off with a version of ‘An Dreolín’ dance – we done to Miss Keane for preparing the children here.

Grandparents/Special Persons Day

On March 26th we had our very first Grandparents/Special Persons Day. We opened our doors to the many special people in our pupils lives to come in and see the work we do each day. We had a fantastic turn out of parents, grandparents and special persons. There was great fun as our visitors tried their hand at the activities going on such as bingo, art, painting and music. Everyone had a nice cupán tae to round off the day also. Well done to our visitors and staff for making it such an enjoyable afternoon. Thank you to Fresh Today our hot lunch providers for the sandwiches and confectionery. See pictures of the event below.

Rugby Star Visits Glenmore N.S!

Today was an incredible day for the staff and pupils of Glenmore N.S. As part of the ‘Dare to Believe’ program we were paid a visit by Ireland women’s rugby star Stacey Flood. Stacey spoke to the children about how she became a professional rugby player and the challenges she faced. She spoke about hard work, perseverance and the setbacks she faced on her journey to becoming an Olympian and Ireland international rugby player. She gave the children a quiz and then spent quite some time answering questions and signing autographs.

We would like to thank Stacey for coming and giving time out of her busy schedule. We are very grateful to her and wish her the best in the upcoming  Women’s 6 Nations. A big well done to all the staff and children for the fantastic artwork displayed around the school. A special mention to Mr. Murphy for co-coordinating the event and for the fantastic large murals he created with the help of the students. Maith thú!
