Our Green Schools Committee are working hard on applying for the Green flag in the litter and waste theme. The deadline for submission is December 2nd 2026.
Our Green-Schools committee launched the year with a presentation on recycling during September’s assembly. They reminding students and staff how to sort paper, card, and plastics properly. To gather student and staff feedback, we designed and distributed a litter and waste questionnaire across Glenmore NS.
The committee also completed September’s school waste audit to track our overall rubbish output and pinpoint where improvements are needed. We found that food waste accounted for 36% of the schools waste and aimed to raise awarness around the area. As part of our outdoor checks, students walked the grounds after breaks to identify school litter black spots and plan clean ups.
Thank you to all pupils, staff and parents for your ongoing support in keeping Glenmore NS clean and green. Every small change makes a big difference to our environment.
