Rugby Star Visits Glenmore N.S!

Today was an incredible day for the staff and pupils of Glenmore N.S. As part of the ‘Dare to Believe’ program we were paid a visit by Ireland women’s rugby star Stacey Flood. Stacey spoke to the children about how she became a professional rugby player and the challenges she faced. She spoke about hard work, perseverance and the setbacks she faced on her journey to becoming an Olympian and Ireland international rugby player. She gave the children a quiz and then spent quite some time answering questions and signing autographs.

We would like to thank Stacey for coming and giving time out of her busy schedule. We are very grateful to her and wish her the best in the upcoming  Women’s 6 Nations. A big well done to all the staff and children for the fantastic artwork displayed around the school. A special mention to Mr. Murphy for co-coordinating the event and for the fantastic large murals he created with the help of the students. Maith thú!
