Glenmore/Ballyfacey N.S – Allianz Cumann na mBunscoileanna 7’s Camogie Winners 2018

A big well done to the 6th class girls of Glenmore and Ballyfacey N.S. On Thursday 3rd of May they captured the Allianz Cumann na mBunscoileanna 7’s Camogie Title for 2018. It was a great a achievement for the girls who beat Clara, St. Canices and Gowran along the way. A huge well done for all involved.

This win gave the girls the honour of representing Kilkenny to play at half time in the Kilkenny V Offaly Leinster Championship game. The girls beat their Offaly opponents in the game and represented their parish and schools with pride and distinction.

2017 – Quiz Wizards!

Congratulations to our u13 quiz team that recently took part in the Credit Union Schools Table Quiz. The team of Patrick O’Connor, Freddie Nathan, Danny Dowling and Caitlin Mullally beat off many schools from South Kilkenny and Wexford to come in 2nd place. Well done to all in doing our school proud.

2017 Trip to the Dáil

On Wednesday 15th of February the pupils of 5th and 6th class visited Dáil Éireann. The pupils were given a guided tour of the house and got to sit in on the important business of the Dáil and Seanad. They also visited the nearby National Library and History Museum.

A great day enjoyed by all and many thanks to Fidelis Doherty for arranging and contributing hugely to the day.

2015 – Allianz Cuman na mBunscoileanna Rionn A Football Final

Glenmore Ballyfacey reached their first ever Rionn A U13 Football Final. The game took place in Mullinavat, Saturday 21st November in ideal sunny conditions. St. Canice’s of Kilkenny were the firm favourites to take the title. St. Canices wasted no time in getting scores on the board and built up a lead by the halfway mark. In the second half Glenmore/Ballyfacey battled bravely to the end and huge credit must be given to them for not giving up. Final Score St. Canices 3-14 Glenmore Ballyfacey 0-3. Well done to all the players involved from both schools.

Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Country Cup Champions 2015

Eight days after winning the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Roinn B League, Glenmore reached the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Country Cup final, on 5th June 2015. Mooncoin were outstanding opposition and both teams displayed great skills and determination. The game produced eight goals and Glenmore won by a point on a scoreline of 5-03 (Mooncoin) and 3-10 (Glenmore). Congratulations to the boys of Glenmore N.S. and Ballyfacey N.S. and to their trainers Mr. Grant and Mr. O’Gorman on a great win and on a very successful year. Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Roinn B Hurling Champions 2015

Having achieved great success by winning the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Roinn C Hurling league for 2014, Glenmore were promoted to Roinn B in 2015. The combined schools teams of Glenmore N.S. and Ballyfacey N.S. had a very successful league campaign and reached the final in Nowlan Park on 28th May 2015 against Tullogher Rosbercon. Both teams displayed great skills and Glenmore won out on a scoreline of 5-10 to 1-04. Congratulations to our captain Ian Byrne, all the team members and their trainers Mr. Grant and Mr. Gorman on a great victory. For more pictures see the photo gallery.

Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Roinn B Football Champions 2014

Well done to the Glenmore and Ballyfacey team who became the Roinn B Football Champions on the 5th December 2014. The game was very closely contested throughout and Glenmore dug deep to defeat Carrickshock on a scoreline of 2-05 to 2-04. Congratulations to all the team and to the trainers Mr. Grant and Mr. O’Gorman on this well deserved victory!

Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Roinn C Hurling Champions 2014

On the 25th of June 2014, the combined team from Glenmore N.S. and Ballyfacey N.S., became the Roinn C hurling school’s champions. They played Danesfort in a fascinating contest, that ended in a draw, in the team’s first meeting in Nowlan Park (Glenmore 2-9 to Danesfort 3-6). The replay was a one-sided affair, with Glenmore proving to be the superior team on the day, winning with a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-4. Well done and many congratulations to all the team, their trainers Mr. Grant and Mr. O’Gorman and to the supporters who turned out in force to cheer on this great group of lads!
